What is Keypass in Digital iD™?
Keypass in Digital iD™ allows you to prove your age using the Digital iD™ app at licensed venues and when purchasing alcohol at liquor stores in Australian Capital Territory, Northern Territory (excluding takeaway alcohol in NT), Queensland, Tasmania and Victoria.
It can be accessed via Australia Post’s Digital iD™ App and is free to download and activate. Keypass in Digital iD™ gives you the convenience of proof of age on your smartphone. You need to be 18 or over to use Keypass in Digital iD™.
How do I get a Keypass in Digital iD™?
To set up your Keypass in Digital iD™, follow these steps:
- Download the Digital iD™ app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. You’ll need to use a suitable device.
- Follow the prompts to ‘Get a Keypass’ in the Digital iD™ app on your smartphone. You'll need to have the details of two forms of identification - one must be a passport or driver licence/permit.
- If you’re unable to complete the process online, you can do so at selected Post Offices.
- Memorise your account details (PIN), so you can use your Digital iD™ when you need to prove who you are, wherever Digital iD™ is accepted.
To use Keypass, simply tap the Keypass banner in your Digital iD™ app and show the screen with the QR code. The QR code may be scanned by the venue.
Depending on which smartphone you use, and what identity documents you have access to, the activation process can differ for each individual applying.
